Delynia Jannell
Upcoming local singer/song writer artist Delynia Jannell started her singing career at the young age of two. She is a native of Kansas City, KS and began singing at Bethel Church of God in Christ where her father later became pastor. Her parents Elder James C. Bailey Jr and Janet V. Bailey always encouraged her gift for singing and continue to be her biggest supporters. Recognizing her vocal talent, Delynia embraced her passion for singing by joining J.T. Productions a gospel organization, which allowed her to travel throughout the United States. But her passion didn’t stop there, she received a vocal music scholarship for Washburn University where she studied and minored in music. Her vocal talent expanded from gospel to several genres of music including R&B, Jazz, Blues, Pop, Neo-Soul, and Opera. Her musical inspirations include Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Yolanda Adams, Kim Burrell, Whitney Huston, and Jill Scott.

.......As she continued to grow vocally she was able to appear as a guest soloist for the
Donivan Bailey Ensemble Group at the historic 18th & Vine district in Kansas City, MO,
perform at Carnegie Hall in New York, and sing background vocals for Shania Twain.
One of her most memorable accomplishments came when she completed her first solo
project, “I Give My All”, where she co-produced and executive produced a live recording
of her CD with Todd Henderson. Delynia Jannell has since been able to appear
in the stage plays, “All that Glitter Isn’t Gold”, “2 Sides2 Love”, and “Christmas
with the Joneses” produced by Don Halliburton Productions. Additional
appearance as a background vocalist includes the Master of Funk Concert
in Kansas City, MO with LeVelle, and The Stellar Awards After Party Concert
in Nashville, TN with Kefia Rollerson from Sunday’s Best. Her vocal’s can
be heard on the professional recording of Michael Portley & The Students
of David, and for various artists albums on the record label Strange Music
out of Lee Summit, MO. She currently performs locally with live bands
Atlantic Express and The Boss Kingz. With the support of her husband
David and two children, Delynia Jannell will be working on her second
solo project starting in the fall of 2014. Be on the lookout for Delynia
